Hi everyone! My name is Christine Dalton. I am a Historic Preservation consultant and Community Planning specialist. Since I was a young girl (in single digits…), I have had a passion for the built and natural environment. This passion has directed my academic and professional career, as well as my volunteer and philanthropic endeavors.
My areas of expertise include (but are not limited to!) historic preservation and community planning education, heritage tourism, downtown revitalization, economic development through placemaking, survey and inventory of historic areas, historic building condition assessments, Historic Structure Reports, and National Register nominations.
I am an adjunct instructor at two colleges in Central Florida (Rollins College, Environmental Studies program, and Seminole State College, Interior Design Program), where I teach Historic Preservation. I have been an educator for over a decade now, and I absolutely love it. I feel that sharing my passion and knowledge of the built and natural environment is a privilege, and I take that feeling of honor with me into every class I teach.
I am a Trustee of the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation, and 2nd Vice President of the American Planning Association’s Orlando Metro Section. I served for thirteen years as the Historic Preservation Officer and Community Planner for the City of Sanford, and was the staff liaison to the city’s Historic Preservation Board and Public Art Commission.
My business is dedicated to teaching you everything you want to know about historic preservation, improving your community and quality of life, and sharing my rehab know-how through my website and YouTube channel. I would love to let you know whenever I post new content. Enter your name and email address below and follow me on this journey!
